My Story
Cheshire Plain was established in 2016 by me, Ian Walton. My passion for woodwork has been a life-long one and after several years as a research scientist and 10 years working in Asia, I finally gave up the corporate life and established Cheshire Plain. My designs do not follow a particular style because much of what I do is informed by the client's needs and wishes; nevertheless having experienced Asian styles, especially Japanese styles, I always seek opportunities to incorporate elements that combine simplicity with practicality, to create something unique.
